Deciphering mechanisms of 1-Methyltryptohan induced KYNA increase with mathematical modelling in pigs

Finding most likely pathway with a System of Ordinary Differential Equations, explaining increase of kynurenic acid (KYNA) and tryptophan due to 1-Methyltryptophan administration in pigs, while the intermediate metabolite kynurenine does not change. This project is a cooperation with the Institute of Immunology, University Medicine, Greifswald, Children and Youth clinic, University Rostock and Leibniz Institute for farm animal biology

Modeling Activation of IDO in pigs due to LPS administration

Mathematical modeling is common for data of in vitro cell line experiments or in genetically identical mice, but not in pigs. Regarding the activation of LPS-induced Indolamine-2,3-dioxigenase and its effects on the tryptophan metabolism, we are searching for individual parameters. This project is a cooperation with the Institute of Immunology, University Medicine, Greifswald, Children and Youth clinic, University Rostock and Leibniz Institute for farm animal biology

Modeling staphylococcus aureus infection of dendritic cells

Different staphylococcus aureus strains show different growth behavior in dendritic cells. We want to decipher the mechanisms of dendritic cells allowing varying growth behavior. This project is a cooperation with the Institute of Immunology, University Medicine, Greifswald

Modeling staphylococcus aureus infection

Mathematical Modeling Interactions of Staphylococcus aureus with the adaptive immune systen in different compartments (nose, bones, blood, tissue), in cooperation with the University Medicine Greifswald, Institute of Immunology, Alexander Cole, Burnett School of Biomedical Science, University of central Florida, USA)

Mathematical Modeling of Influenza A virus induced activation of the adaptive immune system in pigs

This project is in line with the project KoInfekt in cooperation with the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute – Federal Research Institute for Animal Health
